19 NLUs are the participating institute in Common Law Admission test. Test was successfully conducted on 26 May 2019. For the first time it was conducted through offline i.e. pen paper mode. It was held in single shot from 3pm to 5pm. According to our analysis over all level of examination was easy compare to 2018 and 2017 examination.
Exam Analysis – English Section:
Verbal ability has nearly 40 questions. The overall section was comparatively easy. There was one passage for comprehension with ten questions. In terms of understanding the passage it was moderate. The section was majorly dominated by sentence completion, vocabulary and reading comprehension. This section can be considered as most scoring section. A good attempt would be around 34-36 questions.
Exam Analysis-Legal Aptitude:
Legal aptitude is one the important section as it has 50 questions. The section was most difficult this year. It was mainly difficult because the wording of the principals and facts were tricky. Questions were majorly from Contracts and Criminal Law. The students were needed to read the question carefully to ensure no silly mistakes were made. Few questions were similar to previous papers with minute changes. It had approx. 9-10 questions related to Legal GK. A good score would be around 35-36 in this section.
Exam Analysis-Logical section:
Logical reasoning has 40 questions. It was lengthy but an easy section. Major of the questions were majorly based on Arrangements, Syllogism, Series and Blood relation. The puzzles were quite tricky. Good attempt would be around 34-26 questions. There were two flaws in this section and authorities should not ideally consider those question. The section was easy.
Exam Analysis- General Knowledge:
GK compromises of 50 questions. The difficulty level of this section was moderate. This year Gk was dominated by current affairs only 3-4 questions were static in nature. Most of the questions were straightforward. A student who had gone through the questions last 6 months of major happening could easily attempt around 35 questions in GK.
The section has 20 questions. It was the easiest section over 3 years. Most of the students stay away from this section. One could easily solve 12-14 questions in 10 minutes. Major questions were based Time and Work, Percentage and Ratios. Students who had practiced Mathematics would easily get this brownie points
As the paper was simple the cut-off is expected to be high. For NLSIU, Bengaluru is expected to be around 158-160. To get in any of 19 NLUs the score should range between 160 – 135 for general category.
